By car from the A695
Westbound towards Prudhoe take the right turn from the A695, or eastbound towards Blaydon take the left turn, towards Crawcrook and Wylam onto Fell View. Go straight on at the traffic lights onto Greenwell Terrace. After the football club entrance on the right, turn right into Stannerford Road. Follow for nearly a mile. The village hall is on the right, turn right into the car park.
By car from the A1
Take the turn signposted for Wylam. Follow Main Road through Wylam, cross the bridge over the river, cross the railway crossing and follow Crawcrook Lane for about 1 mile. Follow uphill and after the sharp right bend turn next left into Stannerford Road. Follow for nearly a mile. The village hall is on the right, turn right into the car park.
By train
NB The public bridleway, the Keelman’s Way, between Wylam and Clara Vale is closed indefinitely due to a landslip. Clara Vale is about 3 miles from Blaydon train station, access is along the Keelman’s Way public bridleway westbound or by taxi from the station.
By bike
From Blaydon follow the Keelmans Way, mostly off road, flat and following the the river. At the signpost for Clara Vale and Crawcrook follow a track across Ryton golf course (take care to look for play in progress) and cross the railway crossing. At the top of the hill turn left. The village hall is in front of you, bike racks are available. NB The public bridleway, the Keelman’s Way, between Wylam and Clara Vale is closed indefinitely due to a landslip.
By bus
From Newcastle or Hexham, take the 10 operated by Go North East to Crawcrook or Blaydon. The R1, operated by Nexus, runs every hour to Clara Vale from Crawcrook or Blaydon.
