HALL USER GUIDELINES

Welcome to Clara Vale Village Hall and we hope you enjoy using our venue.

We are a registered charity run mostly by volunteers.

The Hall

Please follow these guidelines below when using the hall.

• Familiarise yourself with the location of the 2 fire exits and 3 fire extinguishers.
• If you have hired the soft play it will usually have been set up for you. After your event please place all items in the stage cupboards following the instructions inside the cupboards.
• Return furniture to the place where you found it.
• The lights in the meeting room and hall can be dimmed by pressing and holding the light switch.
• The wifi network and password are located on signs next to each light switch.
• When you leave turn off all switches (except for those marked ‘Do not switch off’)
• Please note: the lights in the toilets and entrance come on and go off automatically, there isn’t a switch.
• Rubbish bags should be placed in the green bin and recycling in the blue bin round the back of the business centre.
• External doors have hooks on them allowing you to hook them open during your booking.
• Close the external doors when you leave.
• Leave the hall clean and tidy and take all personal belongings with you.

The kitchen

Please follow these guidelines below when using the kitchen.

• Familiarise yourself with the location of the fire exits, fire assembly point and fire extinguishers.
• Familiarise yourself with the location of the gas safety shut off switch.
• Use the handwash sink before food preparation and serving.
• Use the stainless steel bench for food preparation, NOT the wooden work bench.
• Use the chopping boards provided for food preparation, DO NOT cut directly on to the work top.
• DO NOT PLACE HOT dishes and pans or WET items on the wooden work bench.
• DO NOT PLACE ANY GLASSWARE in the dishwasher, use the glasswasher.
• The kitchen fluorescent light switch is next to the kitchen door. The light switches for the brass lamps and over-counter lights are next to the meeting room door.
• The wifi network and password are located on signs next to each light switch.
• When you leave turn off all switches including the cooker switch on the wall, water heater, chiller, microwave, heaters, lights and fridges.
• Place used tea towels in the stainless steel bin under the sink.
• Place glass bottles, cans, plastic bottles and cartons and clean cardboard in the white plastic next to the sink for recycling. Extra recycling can be left in a separate bin bag.
• Empty the dishwasher and glasswasher before you leave.
• Empty the fridges before you leave.
• Return furniture and clean crockery and cutlery to the place where you found it.
• Leave the kitchen clean and tidy. DO NOT use chemical cleaners or abrasives on the wooden bench, just warm water.
• Take all personal belongings with you.
